PART-TIME LITTER COLLECTION POSITION AVAILABLE

South Park Township is seeking an individual to fill a part-time position collecting litter throughout the community. The rate of pay is $10.50 per hour with a maximum of 20 hours of employment per week. No benefits are provided. The position requires a mature, dependable person who is self-motivated and can work alone with minimal supervision to collect litter along Township streets where needed. The appropriate safety gear and collection bags will be provided. Interested parties are asked to complete an application and forward a resume by Friday, February 17, 2017 to: Karen Fosbaugh, Township Manager, 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA 15129.

FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER

Qualified persons are invited to apply to South Park Township to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Police Officer with the South Park Township Police Department.

General Requirements: Candidates, at the time of application, must: (1) possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) must be Act 120 Certified or must have successfully completed PA Act 120 training and passed the final exam; (3) be a United States Citizen; (4) be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Successful applicants to establish their primary residency within a radius of ten (10) air miles of the Township Building, within six (6) months after successfully completing the probationary period.

Candidates must have no visible tattoos/or ear plugs. This will include, but not limited to, any areas of the lower portion of the upper arms, elbows, the entire forearms, hands, neck and facial areas. No visible body piercings are permitted.

In addition, successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the Township's Hiring Policy that includes a background investigation and polygraph test, and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.

An application package including the application form and physical agility requirements (waiver form) may be obtained at the South Park Township Administration Building, located at 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA 15129. A completed application with a $60.00, non-refundable application fee, must be filed before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2017 at the Township Building address, as noted above.

The physical agility test will be conducted at the Allegheny County Police Academy, located at 700 West Ridge Drive (North Park), Allison Park, PA 15101 on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 9:00 a.m. Candidates are to arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. The written exam will be conducted at the Broughton Volunteer Fire Department, 1030 Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236, at 2:00 p.m. on the same date. Candidates to arrive no later than 1:45 p.m.
